Regime Change

Why are you in conflict with everything and everyone? I mean it and I am being very serious here. Have you thought about this? If you really stop and watch it then you will see that you’re in conflict with virtually everything in your life. You want it to be different than it is. You are striving to achieve something and get somewhere else that is not right here and right now. You want others to change and be the way you think they ought to be. That is conflict. You think you are separate from the world, and you seek to change it. Whenever there is a belief in separation there is conflict. So, when you really take the time to watch it, and I mean slow it all down and watch it unfold thought by thought, you will see the conflict everywhere. Where there is conflict there cannot be peace, and it is peace that you are yearning and needing. This is the truth.
The conflict is not out there. The crisis of the world is not outside of you. The conflict is inside of you because you believe you are separate from it all and that it needs to be different. This is a crisis of consciousness. It is your own conflict that is being projected outside of yourself. This “crazy and mad world” is your doing. It is our collective doing from our collective consciousness.
For a regime change to occur we need a collective psychological revolution. But a collective psychological revolution can only occur one person at a time so when will you begin? Stop looking outside yourself for change. You are the conflict, and you are the source of change. You are not separate from it.
The observer is the observed.
Even if you want to intellectually reject this notion, I ask you what is the harm in trying? Has anything else worked to change the world or to arrest the madness. The men and women who say they are going to solve all the problems just create more problems. Is this not the history of the world? The problem is not outside of you, and the solution is not outside of you. It never has been. How does the saying go?
“The revolution will not be televised”.
The world changes the instant you change. The more you change the more the world changes because it is not separate from you. Can you see that what you call “the world” is an image you hold in your own mind? That is the only place that your world exists – in your mind. If you are serious about wanting change then it is the structure of your mind that must change, and this means a psychological regime change.
Where do you start? Begin by recognizing it is your problem and not my problem or someone else’s problem. It is your sorrow, your grief, your pain, your trouble, your anxiety, your guilt, your shame, your hatred, your resentment, your judgement and your fear. That is what needs to be tended too and that is where the psychological revolution must take place.
These are all things you can change and things you can have ultimate power over. Ask for courage to face them as it will help, but unconditional love, for yourself and your fellows, will take you all the way if you are willing. Courage is facing your fear with only faith. So have faith in love.
